Speaking to the media after the game, McDavid praised teammate Roslovic and said that he has looked strong since joining the team.

"He was great," Roslovic said postgame. "Honestly, he's been great since he's been here. It's pretty impressive. Really, doesn't have a camp, jumps right in and has looked real dangerous every game. He's been great."

Roslovic played on the Oilers’ top power-play unit in the win. He filled in for Zach Hyman, who is out with a wrist injury. Through 11 games, Roslovic has two goals and three assists, with a plus-six rating, showing his two-way play. His quick skating and smart positioning have helped him fit in well.

When Hyman returns around mid-December, Roslovic will likely move back to the second power-play unit. Still, his recent play could earn him more chances. McDavid's belief in Roslovic is a good sign for him to get more ice time.

Meanwhile, Connor McDavid has 17 points in 13 games this season. He has three goals and 14 assists while averaging over 23 minutes per game. Seven of his assists have come on the power play, a glimpse of which we got to see on Roslovic's goal. So far, McDavid's strong passing continues to drive the Oilers’ attack.

The Oilers have a 6-4-3 record to start the 2025–26 season, and they are sitting near the top of the Pacific Division. Leon Draisaitl is leading with nine goals, while McDavid leads in assists. Edmonton’s offense remains one of the most consistent in the NHL.

Connor McDavid also spoke about the Oilers’ 3-2 overtime win against the Blackhawks. He said the team played better but still needed improvement.

"Maybe a little bit [cleaner tonight], just a touch, but still some things to clean up." McDavid said.

Leon Draisaitl scored first early in the second period on a power play. Tyler Bertuzzi tied it 1-1 later after deflecting a shot from Connor Bedard.

Then came Roslovic's second-period goal, but Andre Burakovsky tied it 2-2 in the third. In overtime, the Oilers controlled the puck and kept pressure on Chicago. Connor McDavid slipped briefly but managed to keep the play alive.

"You know, kind of get them hemmed there, and you're just trying to keep it alive," McDavid said. "Obviously, I'm taking on a forward and trying to make something happen. Slip a little bit, but just keep it alive, and obviously Leo and Bushi make a great play."

Leon Draisaitl passed to Evan Bouchard, who scored on his rebound to win the game.
