Dylan Strome grew emotional speaking with reporters after the game, openly praising his wife’s strength.

"My warrior of a wife had our third daughter while I was - we were on the ice, so I'm really proud of her," Strome said as his eyes filled with tears. "It's tough, and you obviously want to be there for the birth of your children. And didn't know it was coming this soon, but can't wait to go see her.

"Sutton Kimberly Strome is my third daughter. Was born at 730 today. So it was really quick, she felt it two hours before, and just happened, there's nothing I could do to get there. So super proud of her,"

The 28-year-old said he found out after the first period, admitting he played the rest of the night with a lot of emotions. Despite the emotional weight, Strome delivered three assists, two on the power play, helping Alex Ovechkin record his 33rd career hat trick.

It continued a strong November for Strome, who has produced 10 points in 10 games. He now has 20 points in 19 games.

"Definitely playing with a lot of emotions," Strome said. "I found out after the first period tonight. I heard before the game and kind of talked about what I should do. I mean, there was nothing I could do to get back. So, just really proud of her."

Dylan Strome talked about the demands of NHL schedule

Dylan Strome and his wife, Tayler, who announced the pregnancy in late May, now welcome their third daughter alongside Weslie and Emerson. The couple married in 2022 and have embraced the challenges of raising a young family around the demands of an NHL schedule, something Strome acknowledged with deep gratitude.

"And it's not easy. We go on the road a lot, and women go through a lot, and their bodies change so much," Strome said. "And just her - to do that herself is it's unbelievable."

For Dylan Strome, the night was unforgettable, triumphant on the ice, emotional off it, and marked by the arrival of another precious member of the Strome family.

Meanwhile, the Washington Capitals improved their record to 11-8-2 after their third straight win. They made it to the playoffs last year and will try to aim for another berth this season.
