Earlier this week, Florida Panthers forward Brad Marchand’s 1,000-point milestone came with a wave of celebration both on and off the ice including a series of Instagram stories shared by his wife Katrina Marchand featuring behind-the-scenes moments from the night.

Marchand reached the historic mark on Thursday against the Washington Capitals registering the second of his two assists on an empty-net goal late in the third period. The Panthers went on to win 6-3 on the night.

Katrina celebrated the occasion with a sequence of Instagram stories from the special game. The first clip she reshared showed Marchand entering the locker room where teammates showered him with champagne. The video captured the moment he stepped through the doorway still in full gear, grinning as players drenched him in a torrent of ice and water.

“1000,” Katrina captioned the story.

Marchand became the 102nd player in league history to record 1,000 career points hitting the benchmark in his 1,100-plus-game career. The Panthers confirmed they will hold a formal ceremony later this season to honor the milestone.

Brad Marchand reflects on achieving career milestone in front of family

During the postgame media availability, the veteran winger noted the presence of his family made the moment even more memorable. He added that recording the milestone in front of the home crowd was something he had hoped for.

“I hoped it would be tonight, I had the family here,” said Marchand. “It was nice to do it at home, too. It doesn’t matter how it gets done, it was just fun to be a part of it.”
“You don’t get to be a part of things like that very often. There are only 102 players who have done it, and those are cool moments in guy’s careers and we all enjoy them,” he added.

Marchand had been traded to Florida in March earlier this year after spending his entire career in Boston. He went on to play a major role in the Panthers’ 2025 Stanley Cup run producing 10 goals and 10 assists in 23 playoff games and was a key player in the Final.
