Tyler Bertuzzi had a hat trick for the Blackhawks, with Ilya Mikheyev and Connor Bedard adding the other goals for Chicago. Aatu Raty and Evander Kane scored in the third for the Vancouver Canucks.

It’s worth noting the game was scoreless heading into the third, but Canucks fell apart in a span of about eight minutes, leaving them four goals down.

So, here’s a look at the three least impressive Vancouver Canucks players from their 5-2 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday night.

#3 Tyler Myers

Tyler Myers’ defensive game has come under fire in recent weeks. Myers has been seemingly unable to get over consistent defensive miscues, leading to opponents’ goals.

A good example of that came on Tyler Bertuzzi’s hat-trick goal. Here’s a look at the reply as shown on the Blackhawks’ official X account:

The play started with a dreadful turnover by Myers as he attempted to clear the zone. The Blackhawks got the puck back into the Vancouver zone. Myers, meanwhile, stumbled as he tried to clear the front of the net. Bertuzzi pounced on the puck, and the game was 4-0.

Myers ended the night a minus-3 in over 19 minutes of ice time across 22 shifts. He had four shots on goal and one blocked shot.

#2 Elias Pettersson

Elias Pettersson was missing in action for the Vancouver Canucks once again. Vancouver’s top center skated in a little over 19 minutes of ice time across 20 shifts. However, he was unable to generate much offense. His three shots on goal were not the typical high-danger chances the Swedish star usually generates.

Pettersson has now gone goalless in his last five games and has two points in that span. He notched two assists in his last game, leaving him pointless in four of his last five outings.

#1 Brock Boeser

The Canucks former 40-goal scorer did not have his best night on Wednesday against the Blackhawks. He hit the ice for 18:27 across 20 shifts, but did not generate much offense. He had one shot on goal the entire night.

Like Pettersson, Brock Boeser was coming off a strong game against the Nashville Predators. However, Boeser could not replicate that success. He has now failed to score in four of his last five games.

The Canucks will be back in action on Saturday night as they host the Columbus Blue Jackets at Rogers Arena.
