The New York Rangers suffered a tough road loss to the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday night at T-Mobile Arena. The Blueshirts got another fantastic performance from goaltender Igor Shesterkin in the 3-2 defeat.

Unfortunately, the Rangers could not back up Shesterkin with enough offense to pull out the road win. The loss ended New York’s six-game road winning streak.

Jonny Brodzinski and Vincent Trocheck scored for the New York Rangers. Meanwhile, Braden Bowman (PPG), Ben Hutton, and Shea Theodore (PPG) scored for the Vegas Golden Knights.

So, here’s a look at the three least impressive New York Rangers players from their road loss to the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday night.

#3 Alexis Lafreniere

The New York Rangers' former first-overall pick finds himself amid a prolonged cold streak. That stretch continued on Tuesday night as Alexis Lafreniere hit the ice for 16:27 across 25 shifts. However, he managed just one shot on goal the entire night.

Lafreniere had a three-point game against the Nashville Predators on November 10, but that’s been pretty much everything he’s mustered in the last month or so. He’d been coming off a 12-game goalless skid. But after scoring three goals in four games, Lafreniere is now pointless in his last three.

#2 Carson Soucy

The New York Rangers played a tight-checking game that came down to crucial mistakes. One of those came on the power play in the first period as the Golden Knights scored a power play goal to open the scoring.

Here’s a look at the goal as shown on the Golden Knights’ official X account:

The Knights did a good job of passing the puck. The puck eventually landed on Braeden Bowman’s stick, and he did not miss. Rangers blueliner Carson Soucy was too slow to get across, allowing Bowman to bury the puck.

Soucy’s slow reaction led to the goal, one that marked the difference between a victory and a defeat on Tuesday night.

#1 Matthew Robertson

With the Rangers down 2-1 in the third period, the Golden Knights got their second power play goal of the night. The goal was possible due to a screen in front of Shesterkin. However, the screen could have been avoided if blueliner Matthew Robertson had done more to clear the net.

The point shot from Shea Theodore met plenty of traffic in front of the net. Shesterkin argued goalie interference, but to no avail. In the meantime, Robertson was puck-watching as forward Noah Laba tried to contend with two Vegas players in front of Shesterkin.

The goal counted and sent the Rangers packing.

The Blueshirts will face another tough opponent in the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday night at Ball Arena, hoping to start a new road winning streak.
