The Blues got the game-winner from Pius Suter at the 18:37 mark of the third period to cap off the comeback. Meanwhile, Robert Thomas got his second of the season with Dalibot Dvorsky getting his first NHL goal.

Jack Roslovic (PPG) and Andrew Mangiapane got the goals for the Edmonton Oilers. Calvin Pickard made 19 saves in the losing effort.

#3 Ty Emberson

Ty Emberson had a less-than-stellar showing on Monday night in St. Louis. He skated for over 18 minutes across 23 shifts. He failed to get a shot on goal, but managed one blocked shot. However, the Edmonton Oilers blueliner struggled at times, seemingly looking out of place.

The most egregious play came on Thomas’ game-tying goal. Here’s a look at the replay as shown on the Blues’ official X account:

Emberson stumbled, then lost his stick as he tried to cover the play. That miscue allowed Thomas to pick up the puck and fire a shot past Pickard for the 2-2 marker.

Moving forward, the Oilers will need to avoid such catastrophic lapses, as opponents are unlikely to miss on their chances.

#2 Isaac Howard

The Edmonton Oilers' top prospect was seemingly an afterthought on Monday night. He skated for seven minutes on the team’s fourth line, failing to get a shot on goal across 11 shifts.

Howard had shown some encouraging signs this season, but has gradually fallen down the depth chart. His relatively poor showing on Monday night could signal that Howard may find himself back in the AHL at some point.

#1 Evan Bouchard

Evan Bouchard’s defensive play has been the subject of ongoing discussion in recent weeks. While there’s no denying his role on the Oilers’ offense, it’s been his defensive play that’s left much to be desired.

On Monday night, Bouchard was once again at the forefront of the Oilers’ defensive lapses. Bouchard was caught flat-footed on Dvorsky’s power play goal. But it was Bouchard’s lack of presence on the game-winner that left Edmonton fans scratching their heads.

Here’s a look at the goal as seen on the Blues’ official X profile:

Bouchard was all alone, in front of the net, alongside Pius Suter. The Blues forward beat Bouchard to the puck, potting the game-winner. Bouchard, meanwhile, was once again slow to react and unable to anticipate the play despite having plenty of time to do so.

The Oilers’ top blueliner ended the night a minus-1 in nearly 20 minutes of ice time.

The Edmonton Oilers will play their second game in as many nights as they take on the Dallas Stars at the American Airlines Arena on Tuesday night.
