#3 Travis Hamonic

The Detroit Red Wings veteran defenseman has gotten back into the lineup as of late. However, his defensive play has been questionable at best. On Tuesday night, his woes continued as the Predators took advantage of several miscues.

Here’s a look at a crucial one, as shown on the Predators' official X account:

The Preds opened the scoring on the power play, courtesy of Michael Bunting’s 100th career goal. Hamonic battled with a Nashville forward in front of Cam Talbot, but lost sight of the night. As he searched for the loose puck, Bunting moved in and tapped the rebound home for the goal.

Hamonic ended the night playing a little over 13 minutes across 23 shifts. While he had two shots on goal and a block, he ended the game a minus-1.

#2 Albert Johansson

Albert Johansson was another Detroit Red Wings defenseman with a rough outing. He played a little over 156 minutes across 25 shifts, but his minus-1 rating told part of the story on the night.

Here’s a look at a key miscue that led to Nashville tying the game:

The replay shows the Predators’ Ryan O’Reilly coming up the ice. He completely psyched Johansson out, then fed the puck to Nick Blankenburg, who split the Detroit players and scored a pretty goal.

Had Johansson done a better job of stopping O’Reilly, the goal could have been prevented, preserving the Detroit lead. Instead, the goal was part of a five-spot for Nashville in the final frame.

#1 Cam Talbot

Cam Talbot was not his usual steady self on Wednesday night for the Detroit Red Wings. He surrendered five goals on 28 shots, including two goals 18 seconds apart. The goals were ones Talbot would have liked to get back.

Here’s a look at a hard one to swallow by Predators’ captain Roman Josi:

Talbot made the initial save. But Josi picked up the puck and fired from an extremely sharp angle, beating Talbot on the short side. Josi really had no chance to score from the angle, but managed to do so anyway.

The goal put the Preds up 3-2. While the Red Wings would come back to tie the game, the Predators pulled away to win the game.

The Detroit Red Wings will head back into action on Friday night as they host the Tampa Bay Lightning at the Little Caesars Arena.
