#3 Jeffrey Viel

The Boston Bruins' fourth-liner had a tough outing. He played just under nine minutes on the night. He could not generate much offense on the night, despite getting six shots on goal across 12 shifts.

But it was his third-period fight that put him out of the game. Here’s a look as shown on Sportsnet’s official X channel:

Ducks captain Radko Gudas laid a big hit on Michael Eyssimont. Viel immediately charged Gudas in retaliation for the hit. All told, Viel got 17 total penalty minutes, a game misconduct for his antics.

#2 Hampus Lindholm

Hampus Lindholm was part of a beleaguered Bruins defense that could not hold the Anaheim Ducks in check. He hit the ice for over 22 minutes, across 26 shifts. While he notched two shots on goal, he got beaten several times on the night.

Here’s an example:

Lindholm got knocked down in front of the net, allowing Gudas’ point shot to get through and past Jeremy Swayman. Had Lindholm stood his ground, he could have either blocked the shot or prevented the puck from getting through.

The Swedish blueliner got two assists on the night, but his defensive role essentially wiped out those two Boston goals.

#1 Henri Jokiharju

Henri Jokiharju had a night to forget. He ended the game a minus-3 in 14:38 of ice time across 20 shifts. He did not get a shot on block, managing one blocked shot. However, he was on the ice for three Anaheim goals, including the game-winner.

Jokiharju lost a crucial battle along the boards to Leo Carlsson. Carlsson then made the pass across to Troy Terry, who set up Ian Moore for the 4-3 goal.

The Bruins will be back on the ice on Friday night as they take on the Los Angeles Kings at the Crypto.com Arena.
