#3 Joseph Woll

Toronto Maple Leafs netminder Joseph Woll deserved a ton of credit. Woll made his second start this season and did not disappoint. The St. Louis native kept the Maple Leafs in the game all night long.

Woll made 27 saves on the night, including several key stops in the third period as the Blues pushed to win the game. His performance earned him the game’s second star.

#2 John Tavares

John Tavares continues to be a highly productive force for the Toronto Maple Leafs. He skated in nearly 24 minutes on the night across 25 shifts. He got an assist on Nylander’s overtime winner.

The assist, however, was no ordinary helper. Tavares kept the puck in the offensive zone as all three St. Louis players tried to wrestle the puck away from him. After the Leafs got a line change, Tavares kicked the puck back to as Nylander got off the bench.

#1 William Nylander

William Nylander had an embarrassing first period, as he inadvertently knocked the puck into his own net. Nathan Walker got credit for the goal.

Nylander waited for the best time of the game to atone for his mistake. He made a highlight reel goal to get the Maple Leafs off the skids.

Here’s a look at the goal as shown on the Maple Leafs’ official X account:

Tavares can be seen battling along the boards, buying enough time for Nylander to come off the bench and land one of the season’s best goals. Nylander earned the game's first star.

The Maple Leafs can breathe a sigh of relief before playing their next game on Thursday night against the Columbus Blue Jackets at Scotiabank Arena. Toronto will be looking to avenge the 6-3 loss they suffered in Columbus on October 29.
