More about Ice Spice's new track Pretty Privilege

Pretty Privilege is Ice Spice’s second solo release of 2025, following Baddie Baddie in September 2025.

Pretty Privilege is produced by Ice Spice's longtime collaborator RiotUSA, reportedly features the 24-year-old musician once again blending confidence with controversy. The accompanying music video, directed by Evil Twins, features the rapper dancing through a mansion filled with luxury imagery, leaning into the idea of “pretty privilege” as both empowerment and provocation.

The track follows a busy year for the rapper. Her previous release, Baddie Baddie, was dropped on September 26, 2025, and sampled M.I.A.’s 2012 hit Bad Girls. It was her first solo release since Y2K!: I’m Just A Girl (Deluxe) dropped in December 2024.

In the months since, she collaborated with fellow rapper Latto on the track Gyatt, a single that effectively ended months of rumored tension between the two artists. She also made her film debut in Spike Lee’s Highest 2 Lowest, which stars Denzel Washington and A$AP Rocky.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Ice reportedly said her creative process has remained largely consistent, explaining that she works “in bursts,” often taking breaks between sessions to reset.

"I get up, do things, eat, or whatever, and then come back to it the next day"

More about the Baddie Baddie controversy

Before the release of Pretty Privilege, Ice Spice’s September single Baddie Baddie had already stirred online debate over alleged “view-botting.” As HotNewHipHop reported on October 16, 2025, social media users noticed an unusually rapid increase in the YouTube views for the song’s video, accusing the rapper of purchasing views to inflate its popularity.

The Baddie Baddie video, which features Olympic gymnast Sunisa Lee, model Anok Yai, and rising artist Bb trickz, reached 6.8 million views shortly after its release. However, the controversy reportedly did little to stop Ice’s momentum. In fact, it coincided with her reconciliation with Latto through their collaboration Gyatt, which many fans saw as a strategic move to end their long-running feud.

By the time Pretty Privilege arrived, Ice Spice seems to be using the controversy as a source of creativity. Lines like “Cancel me, they really tried it” and “Just be yourself, this s**t could work” read as a direct response to the scrutiny she’s faced, with fans interpreting the lyrics as subtle commentary on the “bot” accusations and her perceived overconfidence.

Critics note that she’s continuing to frame authenticity and confidence as both weapons and shields in a crowded rap landscape increasingly driven by online perception.
