Summer Walker recently stated that she only dates men who are providers. She mentioned that she leaves men if they can't provide and added that she isn't attracted to them.
Walker appeared on an episode of Complex's 360 with Speedy podcast, published on October 23. She spoke about numerous things, like conspiracy theories and her ex-boyfriend, Tyler Meech. The singer reiterated that she only dates men for their ability to provide.
“When you go broke, I will leave you,” she said. “Men are providers, and that’s it. I’m not attracted to them.”
When asked if she chases such men, Summer Walker added:
“No, I never chase, I only attract. And if you came and talked to me, that’s your fault. Ladies, if you try to ride-or-die, you will in fact die. Don’t do that sh*t no more. You look stupid,” she added.
She later asserted that she is not a man-hater, but said:
“Y’all can provide, but to like [men]? I don’t know.”

Summer Walker opens up about the doorbell incident with her ex-boyfriend, Lil Meech

Walker and Lil Meech, whose real name is Demetrius Edward Flenory Jr, were dating in 2023. Rumors began in April 2023, before they confirmed it in May. However, they broke up that year after cheating allegations against Meech.
A doorbell video surfaced on social media, showing the rapper entering another woman's house with groceries in hand. Users online alleged that he is cheating on Summer Walker. However, he denied it, writing in an Instagram story (h/t Complex):
"Damn, I can’t help my cousin bring the bags in the house. We went to the grocery store, man."
In her interview with Complex, the host asked Summer Walker:
"What do you remember about a moment like that? Was it infuriating for you?"
She answered:
"It was. That was really ignorant. But, hey, I was like, 'That’s trifling as f**k.' I literally don’t even have to say anything on that because his life is terrible now, so yeah."
Walker also asserted that her standards have changed following her breakup with Lil Meech.
"It’s really crazy how if you just change your standards, the amount of sh*t you’ll get. Everything. You really have to teach people how to treat you… The nice-girl thing doesn’t really work.
"I don’t even gotta f*ck. I don’t care what nobody says — all that, 'Oh, we want a submissive, sweet [woman].' No you don’t. I swear, I was that person for so long, and I got sh*tted on," she added.
Summer Walker is set to release her third studio album, Finally Over It, on November 14. She references the grocery incident in the trailer of her album. In the video, she takes a polygraph test, where she admits that the woman in question wasn't Lil Meech's cousin.
