He was arrested on Thursday morning by the Los Angeles Police and booked at the LAPD's Van Nuys Station, with his bail set for $50,000. TMZ reported that the rapper and singer was released that same afternoon and was seen heading to a bail bondsman.

The singer reportedly addressed the situation in a video posted to social media after his release, claiming that Princess Love and another man attempted to "snatch" his kids from his bedroom during an argument. For the uninitiated, Ray J and Princess Love share two children, daughter Melody Love (aged seven) and son Epik Ray (aged five).

"Listen, Imma say this because I'm not going to let the story go toward where it don't supposed to go. You in my house, you having an argument. We grownups. If you want to leave, leave. The kids is upstairs sleeping on my bed. You wanna go upstairs and take the kids, wake 'em up into this grown-up argument which should never happen. Instead of letting them sleep, you wanna snatch her and take her with you," Ray said.

In the video, Ray J further claimed that Princess Love and her companions were drunk, firmly stating that he wasn't going to let them take the children while they were inebriated. The singer further added that he was trying to defend his kids and his space when the police were called.

"Then you gotta do come in my bedroom, where my kids sleep, and they're trying to get in my bed and take my kids cause all of y'all are drunk. Y'all can't drive with these kids drunk. I'm not gonna let that happen," he said.

Ray continued:

"This dude is coming in my room, getting in my bed to take my kids, I'm going to defend my kids, and Imma defend my space, and now, when they call the police, no problem. I'm sure the police gonna come and understand what I'm going through, then I go to jail? I'm in my bedroom! They're in there snatching my kids out of the bed while they sleep."
