Keith Urban confuses people with his choice of music during a performance at a private Mar-a-Lago holiday event attended by President Donald Trump over the weekend. The country music star performed Chappell Roan's Pink Pony Club at the event on Saturday, November 15, hosted by Australian billionaire Anthony Pratt.

Snippets of Urban's performance at the lavish gathering were shared on Instagram by Florida realtor Tali Israel. Trump can be seen sitting with Pratt, who reportedly donated $10 million to the former's 2024 election campaign, in one of the videos from the event. One of the videos from the post also showed Keith Urban performing his rendition of Pink Pony Club with his guitar onstage.

But since Israel's post went viral, fans have commented about Urban's performance. While some criticized the singer for singing at a Trump-adjacent party, some were also confused about his choosing to sing Chappell Roan's Pink Pony Club in front of Donald Trump.

The song has been widely considered a queer anthem, and some netizens were confused, with one of them saying the country star "caused a stir" with his song choice.

The country star also performed Bob Marley and the Wailers' Is This Love with a small backing band, per Page Six.

Keith Urban previously said that he "almost cried" hearing Pink Pony Club for the first time

The exclusive Mar-a-Lago event that President Donald Trump attended over the weekend wasn't the first time Keith Urban performed Chappell Roan's Pink Pony Club. The country musician also covered the song multiple times during his recent concerts and previously shared his fascination with the song.

Back in April, he appeared on MUCH's Canadian web series Intimate and Interactive and covered the song. After the performance, he called Roan's Pink Pony Club a "great song" and shared his admiration for songs like it, which he said "capture a sense of metaphor." He also recalled his reaction the first time he listened to the track, saying:

"God, when I heard that song, I just almost cried. I'm like, 'Who doesn't wanna find a safe place? Wherever that is?' You just wanna find your people—doesn't matter what that is, just somewhere where you finally realize you belong there. God, that speaks to me."

With that said, it may not be the last time fans will hear Keith Urban covering Chappell Roan's song. While the country star wrapped his High and Alive tour in the US last October, he will be extending the tour overseas. Following a scheduled performance at the Top Shelf Country Cruise in the Bahamas, he will be touring the UK, starting at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow on March 13, 2026.

He will also visit London and Belfast before returning to the US for a couple of music festival performances from May to August next year.

Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman recently shared the news that they are separating after years of marriage. The actress filed for divorce on September 30.
