Britney Spears returned to Instagram with a lengthy reflective message about "suffering and ugliness" that she has since edited. The pop star shared a clip of her dancing and lip-synching to Adele's Send My Love (To Your New Lover) on her Instagram on Saturday, November 29.

But while the dancing video is playful, Spears dug deep in the caption and reflected on what she learned from "hard times" and why it's important to keep one's inner child during "the most vulnerable of times." She wrote in the caption, per People:

"Haven't found my party dress for this year... Reflective is good for the soul... Sometimes when hard things happen, good things come from it and we learn... I learned that a real note of expression with emotion speaks volumes for us all!!"

Britney Spears continued to say that the "child within must speak in the most vulnerable of times. She reflected on keeping one's most sensitive part of the soul and allowing it to rebel, even if people would call it childish, silly, or annoying. The pop star also shared a message about surviving losing someone and moving through suffering and ugliness. She wrote:

"Sadness and darkness survive to make an understanding of losing someone and the hurt and pain... Sometimes through suffering and ugliness and sacrifice, extremely rare and beautiful things can be manifested and shared that can touch another person so they understand they are not alone."

However, Britney Spears has since edited the caption. The lengthy message was removed on November 30, and she made it much shorter by talking about feeling pretty in the bathing suit she is wearing in the video and finding the Mary Jane shoes to match it.

Britney Spears' since-edited reflective Instagram post heading into the holiday season comes after she returned to Instagram after deactivating her account earlier this month. She deactivated her Instagram on November 2 following a dispute with Kevin Federline and his memoir You Thought You Knew.

According to People, her decision to deactivate the account came after an apparent fan comment sharing concerns about the pop star's dancing videos and how she tends to turn off the comments on her cryptic posts about her kids. While her X account remained active, per Rolling Stone, her Instagram directed visitors to an error page, saying the profile may be "broke" or has been "removed."

The Instagram deactivation also follows Britney Spears' series of comments on Federline's claims in his memoir. Among his claims are the pop star's bizarre actions, like watching their children sleep while holding a knife. After the memoir's release, Speakes spoke on X and accused her ex-husband of "constant gaslighting" and being "extremely hurtful and exhausting."

And while she didn't drop any names in her subsequent X post, per Rolling Stone, she reflected on how she is "always being threatened or made to believe I'm the bad one as they profit off my pain."

On a lighter note, Britney Spears revealed in her since-edited Instagram post on November 29, per People, that she enjoyed a Thanksgiving meal. She said she "cheated" and was "so bad" that she couldn't look at food after Thanksgiving.
