Billy Idol turned 70 on Sunday, November 30, and he celebrated the milestone with a concert in Mexico City. He was touring Latin America throughout the month for his It's a Nice Day To.. And talking about rocking at 70 years old, he told DPA during an interview in London two days ago, that he has "really enjoyed being a grandad" and enjoying his music with the little ones. He talked about how his granddaughters got introduced to his music and how they seem to like it. He said:

"I remember Poppy first tapping her foot to Rebel Yell. The child doesn't get taught to tap its foot to music, it just does it. So I saw her tap her feet to some of my music for the first time, to Rebel Yell. She was tapping her feet for the first time."

Poppy Rebel is Billy Idol's 5-year-old granddaughter from his daughter Bonnie Blue Broad and is a sibling to 3-year-old Mary Jane. It also wasn't the first time he shared a look of his life as a granddad. The rock legend recently shared a photo of his family's Thanksgiving celebration on his Instagram and said in the caption that he made a gingerbread house with Poppy, Mary Jane, and their cousins.

He added that he has plenty to be thankful for this year. He's not only turning 70, but according to the rock legend, he also had a fantastic year after his latest album and tour went "very well."

2025 is a big year for rock legend Billy Idol. From releasing his ninth studio album, Dream Into It, back in April, before going on tour that ends right on his 70th birthday, he also has an upcoming documentary. By mid-October, the feature doc has found its international distributor. This means Billy Idol Should Be Dead will be hitting streaming services soon. But before it arrives, Idol released a new original song for his documentary called Dying to Live on November 14. It's a collaboration with J. Ralph. He also dropped the video for the song via The Hollywood Reporter.

According to Deadline, the film is a mix of never-before-seen archival footage from the rock legend's decades-long career and other revealing interviews by Idol himself and those close to him. It's billed as an:

"Intimate, no-holds-barred portrait of the legendary punk musician, told by those who know him best, including Idol himself."

Besides the rock star himself, his bandmates and some family members are also expected to make an appearance in the new documentary. Plenty of other music artists were also part of the project, including Green Day lead singer Billy Joe Armstrong and Miley Cyrus.
