Demi Lovato struggled massively with drug abuse in the past. She even revealed that in 2018, she suffered a heart attack and three strokes after a drug overdose. She said (h/t BBC):

"My doctors said that I had five to 10 more minutes. ... [she was] left with brain damage and I still feel the effects of that".

The singer has been open about her journey and has been working to help more people as well.

Amidst this, Tekashi 6ix9ine, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, has claimed that Lovato will "relapse". In an interview with Andie Elle, published on November 5, the rapper and the host were discussing child artists. Hernandez claimed that Lovato did drugs before the host said that she is clean now.

The rapper, however, said that "she will relapse". He even added that he will send drugs to her, before later telling TMZ that it was an attempt at a "dark joke". Fans online have reacted to this, as one X (formerly Twitter) user wrote:

Alyson Stoner released her memoir titled Semi-Well-Adjusted Despite Literally Everything on August 12 this year. In it, she mentioned dealing with Demi Lovato on the sets of Camp Rock, as the singer struggled with drug abuse. She said that the staff appointed people to monitor her, but it was of no use.

Stoner wrote in her memoir, as caught by USA Today:

“To get through the tour, the entire crew bent the knee, accepting that at any moment we could be open targets for her to externalize her pain. At 16, being forced to submit to her power plays was confusing. She verbally lashed out behind the curtain, and then we’d walk onstage for a sound check meet-and-greet and publicly kiss her crown.”

Stoner also claimed that Lovato allegedly punched a crew member. When the singer later went into rehab, Stoner allegedly received backlash and even death threats from Lovato's fans. She mentioned in her memoir:

“For several years, I felt suffocated under the weight of Demi’s power and terrified of her PR team, the extreme remarks from her fanbase and the way mass media gave a fabricated identity a life of its own.”

Demi Lovato, however, apologized to Stoner later on, with the latter getting a better understanding of her issues. This came about after Lovato's team reached out to Stoner for Child Star, a 2024 documentary that showed the highs and lows of some famous child actors.

Both Stoner and Lovato now work towards helping the younger generation, with the latter also spreading awareness about her eating disorder.
