Meek Mill, whose real name is Robert Rihmeek Williams, was involved in an intense beef with Drake around 2015. He accused the Canadian rapper of allegedly using a ghostwriter to write his lyrics. They eventually released multiple diss tracks against each other.

During Young Thug's concert in Philadelphia on Saturday, December 6, Mill revealed that the rapper backed him during his beef. As caught by Complex, he said:

“I tell this n***a every time I see him, when I was beefing with Drake, n***as was acting like they were scared to do a verse with me. This n***a pulled up to my house while I’m on house arrest two days straight,” Meek said. “[Thug] got with me, pulled my confidence right back up, locked right in. So Philly, make some fucking noise for Young Thug in this bitch.”

In January this year, Meek Mill reflected on his beef with Drizzy, as he responded to a comment on X (formerly Twitter). It came after the Canadian rapper filed a lawsuit against Universal Music Group (UMG) for their alleged role in promoting Kendrick Lamar's diss track, Not Like Us.

An X user wrote in January, as caught by Complex:

“I wonder how @MeekMill feel bout Drake suing… Cause N***as said this n that bout him…. Drake went all out on Meek.”

Mill responded to this by writing:

"Label told me don't drop nothing .. I went against that and dropped dc4 mixxtape. "Shari Bryant backed me herself" 90k first week to heat up ... I couldn't make any playlist either that had me confused a lil losing confidence but I knew 80% was campaign! Influence for the net only."

He then added a follow-up tweet, writing:

"It all comes down to who know who ...once l started owning companies I wanted to be in convo with the high level shakers and owners if I made more than 100m on a label because not the only business I got and I deal with the top people at companies to get top results!"

Meek Mill had slammed Atlantic Records publicly in the last few years. He claimed that they didn't allow him to release new music “until nine months after his last album got blackballed.”

On the other hand, Drake's defamation lawsuit against UMG was dismissed in October this year. The judge wrote in their statement that the usage of the words "certified pedophile" in the song cannot "reasonably be understood to convey as a factual matter that Drake is a pedophile or that he has engaged in sexual relations with minors."
