Drake has shared a preview of some upcoming new music, which is expected to be a part of his upcoming ninth studio album, Iceman. The track was previously heard during episode 3 of the rapper's livestream, intended to promote the album. On December 2, Drake dropped a short clip on his Instagram story where he's drinking something and vibing with some unheard music. The track was previously featured in Iceman Episode 3 of his livestream, which aired in September this year. Fans took to X to share their thoughts on the new preview, with many being impatient about the Toronto rapper's album release. In February this year, the rapper collaborated with PartyNextDoor to release a collaborative album titled Some Sexy Songs 4 U. Since then, he has dropped three singles from his upcoming album, including What Did I Miss?, Which One, and Dog House. Moreover, he has been hosting livestreams to promote the album, having released three episodes so far. These streams feature Drake previewing some of the songs and also dropping some of the singles after the episode streams. Hip-hop podcaster DJ Akademiks predicts Drake's Iceman will do "ridiculous numbers" upon releaseIn his livestream on December 1, popular hip-hop podcaster DJ Akademiks predicted that Drake's next album, Iceman, will be a major success with "ridiculous numbers." Akademiks is known to be a loyalist of the Toronto rapper. He said:"Iceman is going to do ridiculous numbers. It's going to be crazy. Now here's the thing, I'm losing faith that it's coming out this year again."Speaking further about the album's release date, Akademiks said that Drizzy usually decides it a week before dropping it. He has yet to announce the release date for Iceman as of this writing. "Drake never knew the date. Like the last couple of his albums, he hit the label up when he was done, same week or the week before it dropped. So it's not like he was like pre-planned. So, people been asking me for the whole year, when is Drake dropping?," the podcaster said. He continued:"Well, if I'm telling you that all his other albums, he's kind of figured out when he's dropping, like a week or two before. How could you ask me in July? When is Iceman dropping? Or how could you ask me in August, when Drake himself has only made these decisions a week or two before? Right?DJ Akademiks believes that the rapper's upcoming ninth studio album is "definitely dropping", but he thinks it will not happen this year. The podcaster then discussed how it would not "make sense" for Drizzy to drop his album this year, as it is the Christmas season. He mentioned popular singer Mariah Carey, who often returns to the music charts for her Christmas hit, All I Want for Christmas is You, every year.Akademiks also predicted the numbers the Toronto rapper's album will make, claiming it will sell 400 to 600 units. "Not that he'll be competing with Mariah Carey, because Mariah Carey will. Drake is going to do 400 to 600. Facts. This ain't a 300 album. This ain't a collab with PartyNextDoor. Next album is doing 400-600. And honestly, you know, if I could control his marketing, he would have been doing 750 constantly, but 400 to 600," he said. Drizzy's last album in collaboration with PartyNextDoor debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 this February.
