Canadian rapper bbno$, whose real name is Alexander Leon Gumuchian, recently announced that he was quitting music due to popular demand. The 30-year-old rapper and songwriter, who rose to fame with his hit Lalala, first hinted at the decision on his TikTok account, where he posted a clip of himself with the caption, "if this gets 1million likes i will stop making music."

Following this, bbno$ revealed his decision to stop making music in an Instagram post on December 8, 2025. The post included a screenshot of bbno$'s statement, in which he claimed he was quitting music for the "foreseeable future" due to millions of people "begging [him] to stop."

“As you guys know, I am for the people. And the people have asked me to stop making music. Due to the millions of people begging me to stop, I have made the incredible difficult decision to stop making music for the foreseeable future. Happy holidays, Alex," he wrote.

His Instagram post was captioned "thank you for the memories." It is unclear whether the rapper was serious about quitting music, and he has only commented on his decision on Instagram.

bbno$ will embark on a tour in 2026

Despite his recent announcement about quitting music, bbno$ will embark on a new tour in 2026. This came after the rapper released his self-titled album in October 2025, making this his eighth studio LP. In an interview with Beat at the time, bbno$ said the new album was "his best project," and also revealed the reason why he decided to name the new album after his on stage moniker.

“I didn’t really want to come up with a name, to be honest. I was like, well, Baby No Money is good enough. I always think self-titled is a representation of your best work and what you deem Baby No Money to be. Now that I actually have the production budget to do something more than nothing on stage, people will be able to fully understand what Baby No Money is all about.”

He further said the vision for the new project was "lit and fun," adding that there was "no seriousness for this album whatsoever." The rapper also said that he hoped to make his fans "separate" themselves from reality while listening to the new project to drown out the negativity in the world.

In August 2025, bbno$ announced "The Internet Explorer World Tour" for 2026, which will see the rapper perform in various venues across North America, the UK, and Europe. Tickets for the tour went on sale on September 2.
