As per NFR Podcast, Kanye West, aka Ye, is set to release his much-awaited album, Bully, on December 12 this year. It will be his 12th solo studio album and the first after his 2022 album, Donda 2.
Ye announced the release of Bully in September 2024, but it has been delayed five times since then. The rapper had first claimed that the album would come out on North West's birthday this year, i.e., June 15. However, it wasn't released then, and there was no official word either.
Ye then released a few tracks on June 20 - Preacher Man, Beauty and the Beast, and DAMN. He then released two more singles on July 4 - Last Breath and Losing Your Mind. He then hinted at a July 25 release for the album, but it was delayed again.
Kanye West then pushed the release date to September before Spotify started a countdown until November 7. However, the release has been pushed to December 12 now, as per the NFR Podcast.
Kanye West announced Bully in September 2024 and shared the reason behind its name
Ye announced his new album, Bully, during a concert in Haikou, China, on September 28. During his performance, the rapper said:
“I got a new album coming out. The album’s called ‘Bully,’ and this song is called ‘Beauty and the Beast.'”
Rapping the lyrics of Beauty and the Beast, he said:
“I still think about it every night and day to try to stay away, to keep my audience / Don’t take this disrespect, I’m sitting here trying to redirect.”
Meanwhile, in an interview with Justin Laboy, released on February 5 this year, Kanye West explained that Bully is named after his son, Saint. He said:
"My son [Saint] was playing with some kid, and then he kicked him," West told Laboy. "I asked my son, 'why you do that?' and he said, 'because he weak.' I was like, 'this man is really a bully.'"
West has four sons with Kim Kardashian: North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.
DJ Akademiks claims no one can beat Kanye West at Verzuz battles

The 2025 Verzuz took place at Complex Con on October 25 at the Las Vegas Convention Center with many top rappers taking part. However, it didn't include Ye.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on November 2, streamer DJ Akademiks claims that no one would've been able to beat Ye had he been there. He wrote:
"Nobody beats Kanye West in a verzuz. He’s the king of that. Too bad they canceled the goat… so we won’t ever see it. But no rapper dead alive or in the future beats Ye."
Meanwhile, during an episode of The Angie Martinez Show in 2021, Swizz Beatz said that he had approached the Runaway singer to take part in Verzuz. He said that he wanted to battle against Drake, but eventually, it didn't go through.
