How was Lil Durk's associate THF Bayzoo killed? Mother of rapper's first 2 kids mourns death

Nikki, the mother of Lil Durk's first two kids, mourned the death of OTF affiliate THF Bayzoo. For the uninitiated, Bayzoo (real name Devonsha Collier), a close friend of Lil Durk and a part of the rapper's Only The Family collective, was reportedly shot by two unidentified assailants in Little Village, Chicago, at around 3 pm on October 25, 2025.

According to Hot New Hip Hop, a video of the assault showed two armed men approaching a man presumed to be Bayzoo and two other men with him in a parking lot and firing at them. All three were rushed to the hospital, where Bayzoo was pronounced dead on October 26. The 35-year-old's death came eight years after he was acquitted of a gang-related murder charge.

On October 27, 2025, No Jumper caught a screenshot of Nikki's tribute for THF Bayzoo. The woman, who is believed to be the mother of Lil Durk's two older kids, shared a picture of herself with Bayzoo, captioning the picture:

"Love you Wop. 4Life Brotha. You been there since before all this."

She also shared a screenshot of a text thread with Bayzoo. A part of the screenshot was blocked with text that read "4Eva Wop." In the image, Nikki's message to Bayzoo read, "I love the f*k outta you you always stand on s**t wen it come to me no matter what I just want u to kno I love u."

Bayzoo replied with a lengthy response, calling Nikki "a real sister," and wrote:

"I'm going to tell u this like never before u the realest out of the family I love u sincerely as a real sister no bap ur heart and doors have always been open to me that's the problem nighaz intimidated by mark cuz I keep s**t to funky i let my nuts hang cuz I'm to vocal to hold s**t back and that right there cause a lot of envy like I tell you all the time I want the best for all my ppl but I gotta make some out of it the goal is to protect our kids that's who we do it for."

THF Bayzoo supported Lil Durk after he was arrested on "Murder-For-Hire" charges

In October 2024, Chicago drill rapper Lil Durk, born Durk Devontay Banks, was arrested on "Murder-For-Hire" charges for his alleged involvement in the 2022 shootout targeting fellow rapper Quando Rando. While Rando escaped the gunfire, his cousin Saviay'a Robinson died as a result of the shootout.

According to CBS News, authorities believed that Durk orchestrated the 2022 shootout as a revenge plot for the 2020 murder of his friend King Von, who was fatally shot during an altercation with Quando Rando's crew in Atlanta.

Days after his arrest, THF Bayzoo took to social media to show support for Lil Durk, claiming that the "Murder-For-Hire" charges were "outrageous," as reported by Hot New Hip Hop.

"Social media, fake fans, bloggers, etc know how to give unproven titles to ppl. Murda 4 hire is outrageous. Painting a picture for the officials to run wit to trick u our your position smh. For the record why would he have to pay his day [one] to hunt for the lost of another day [one]. Make it make sense," he wrote.

Meanwhile, the government revealed that Lil Durk's supporters threatened a judge and a prosecutor involved with the rapper's case earlier this month. According to Complex, an FBI report filed as part of a request for an anonymous jury listed four voicemails made to the Central District of California United States Magistrate Judge’s line with explicit threats to the judge if Durk was convicted.

Prosecutor Ian Yanniello also reportedly received a call where an unidentified male voice said, "Free Durk, or we gonna shoot that motherf**ker up.” Lil Durk's trial is scheduled for January 2026.
