The 26-year-old Florida rapper POORSTACY, who was reportedly well-known for fusing hip-hop and rock and collaborating with musicians like Travis Barker and Oli Sykes of Bring Me the Horizon, passed away.

His death was first reported by TMZ and later confirmed by the Palm Beach County Medical Examiner, according to the report by HotNewHipHop on December 1, 2025.

Billboard also verified POORSTACY's age in their December 2, 2025, report, stating that he passed away in Boca Raton on Saturday, November 29, 2025, after what authorities reportedly called a "incident."

The rapper, whose real name was Carlito Milfort Jr., had been staying at a Boca Raton hotel for 10 days before his passing. Fans and associates have expressed their sorrow on social media in response to his unexpected passing.

According to the report by Billboard, Boca Raton Police confirmed that POORSTACY died Saturday after an unspecified “incident” at a local address. Officers were called to a hotel, and then the rapper was reportedly taken to a hospital close by.

As cited by HotNewHiHop, an employee reportedly told TMZ that the rapper experienced a medical emergency on Saturday morning and had been staying at the property for 10 days.

Additionally, the worker claimed to have checked in with a woman and a toddler, although Billboard stated it was unable to independently confirm that information. At the time of press, there were no reports of any additional injuries.

Authorities have not released a cause of death, and no public statements have been made confirming any of the speculation circulating on social media.

In their update, HotNewHipHop reported that many fans have interpreted the circumstances as a possible suicide, writing tributes online that reference their own experiences with loss. Officials have not commented on any fan theories, and the investigation remains ongoing.


POORSTACY’s rise reportedly began with his distinctive fusion of rap, heavy metal, post-punk, and alternative rock, an approach that quickly attracted industry attention. Billboard reported that his genre-blending sound led to collaborations with prominent figures such as Travis Barker and Oli Sykes of Bring Me the Horizon.

His work with Barker included several tracks, the most successful being Choose Life, while his collaboration with Sykes produced the song Knife Party.
