Walt Disney Animation Studios' Zootopia 2 sees the return of Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde to the world, with a new case, new characters, and a long list of music. The movie is the next chapter in the franchise, which began in 2016 and has been further developed through TV and other media.
The movie had its premiere at the El Capitan Theatre in LA on November 13, 2025, and will be shown in US theaters on November 26, 2025. What happens in Zootopia 2 and who stars in it?
In Zootopia 2, Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde harass Chief Bogo with their refusal to take on a new assignment. They end up having to track down the arrival of Gary De’Snake, a pit viper with a secretive nature, who rattles the city’s stability.
Disguised and operating in uncharted territories, Judy and Nick are dealing with the ZPD’s internal fight while also uncovering a vast conspiracy of reptiles outside Zootopia.
The voice cast features Ginnifer Goodwin as the voice of Judy Hopps and Jason Bateman once again as the voice of Nick Wilde. Idris Elba reprises his role as Chief Bogo, and Shakira is back as Gazelle.
Additionally, Ke Huy Quan is Gary De'Snake, Fortune Feimster is Nibbles Maplestick, and Andy Samberg is Pawbert Lynxley. Two other members of the cast are David Strathairn and Quinta Brunson, while the rest of the voice cast are Maurice LaMarche, Bonnie Hunt, Don Lake, Cecily Strong, Tommy Chong, and Macaulay Culkin.
Besides them, Jenny Slate plays Dawn Bellwether, Michelle Gomez is Captain Hoggbottom, Josh Gad performs as Paul Moldebrandt, Dwayne Johnson is Zeke, and Ed Sheeran plays Ed Shearin.
