When will Dust Bunny premiere? Release date, cast details, first look, and more

Releasing on December 12, 2025, Dust Bunny is a horror thriller film directed by Bryan Fuller in his directorial debut.

The film stars Mads Mikkelsen in the lead role of a hitman alongside stars such as Sigourney Weaver, David Dastmalchian, and newcomer Sophie Sloan as the young lead, Aurora.

The plot revolves around Aurora, an eight-year-old girl who lives in fear, believing that a vicious monster under her bed has consumed her family. Desperate for help, she hires her next-door neighbor, who happens to be a professional hitman. While the neighbor initially suspects Aurora's parents may have been victims of an assassin targeting him, he reluctantly takes the job for a meager sum.

The film's trailer opens with the young Aurora interacting with her neighbor discussing about a monster who she claims is living under her bed and that its targeting her family. She then slips a few one dollar bills asking him if that's is enough to kill the being, stating that "You look like you like you've killed a lot of things," when the neighbot asks her why she thinks that he kills monster.

The neighbor's world of assassination then violently intersects with Aurora’s monster fantasy when he attempts to ground her reality, claiming:

"A monster didn't eat your parents, those were men that came to kill me."

The final trailer montage features the human assassins who are pursuing the neighbor, and it closes with the Dust Bunny titled on floorboards drawn out of something which clearly appears to a fur of an animal.

Mads Mikkelsen leads the cast alonsgide newcome Sophie Solan in Dust Bunny

Dust Bunny features the veteran actor Mads Mikkelsen in the lead of the hitman alonsgide the newcomer Sophie Sloan who plays Aurora in the film.

Mikkelsen is most notable for his role as the charming and terrifying cannibalistic forensic psychiatrist Dr. Hannibal Lecter in Fuller's critically acclaimed television series, Hannibal. He also gained widespread recognition as the menacing villain Le Chiffre in the James Bond film Casino Royale and, more recently, as the dark sorcerer Gellert Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.

He also featured as the an antagonist, the dark sorcerer named Kaecilius in Marvel Cinematic Universe Doctor Strange (2016). His mission directly sets up the conflict for Benedict Cumberbatch's Dr. Stephen Strange.
