The announcement was placed next to the newspaper's Love Letters advice column and contained a staged photo of Zendaya sitting on Pattinson's lap and showing a ring. A lot of people who saw the announcement at first thought it was a joke and The Boston Globe had to explain that the notice was actually a part of the campaign of The Drama (2026).

The note was very quickly picked up on the internet, and a person reposted the article on X (formerly Twitter) with the comment "the age gap," thus starting the discussion about the age difference of the characters.

The character of Zendaya, Emma Harwood, is a 2013 graduate of high school and a 2017 graduate of Boston University, so she would be around 28 years of age at the time of the movie.

The character Charlie of Robert Pattinson is a graduate of Eaton College in 2004, after which he received a Ph.D. from Tufts University and became the Director of the Cambridge Art Museum.

The timeline suggests that Charlie is probably 10 years older than Emma in The Drama (2026), which has quickly sparked online debate about whether the age difference will be the cause of the conflict in the movie.
