This upcoming installment, which follows the massive box office successes of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017) and Jumanji: The Next Level (2019), is expected to be the final film in the series. Directed by Jake Kasdan, Jumanji 3 is scheduled to be released during the holiday season around Christmas 2026.

Jumanji 3's first official look comes days after Dwayne Johnson confirmed that the upcoming film will be the final one in the adventure franchise. The Rock announced in an Instagram post made on November 12, 2025, which confirmed the film's production and its Christmas release in 2026. The recent post by Sony Pictures was captioned:

"Look who’s on the loose 👀 #JumanjiMovie is coming exclusively to theatres Christmas 2026."

Notably, a day earlier, Johnson shared a post where he is seen surprising fans at Universal Studios during the film's shooting. In the video, The Smashing Machine star can be seen sporting the iconic dice necklace, which was worn by Robin Williams in the original 1995 film. The Moana star captioned:

Jumanji 3 is set to feature an extensive returning cast, ensuring continuity from the previous reboot films. Among those are the teenagers who enter the game: Alex Wolff (Spencer Gilpin), Morgan Turner (Martha Kaply), Ser’Darius Blain (Anthony "Fridge" Johnson), and Madison Iseman (Bethany Walker).

Additionally, the film is bringing back supporting characters who appeared in Jumanji: The Next Level, such as Danny DeVito (Eddie Gilpin), Nick Jonas (Jefferson "Seaplane" McDonough), Rhys Darby (Nigel Billingsley, the NPC guide), and Awkwafina (Ming Fleetfoot, an avatar).

The film is being directed by Jake Kasdan, who helmed both previous films in the franchise, and he is also returning as a co-writer alongside Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg. Dwayne Johnson and Kasdan are both listed as producers, among others.

Notably, while the first two reboot films were shot in places like Hawaii and Atlanta, production for this final chapter has begun in Los Angeles. The official release date for the untitled film has been set by Sony Pictures for December 11, 2026.
