The deal grants OpenAI the right to use over 200 beloved Disney, Marvel, Pixar, and Star Wars characters, including iconic environments, costumes, and prop, to generate short, fan-prompted social videos and images. This means users will soon be able to generate videos featuring characters like Mickey Mouse, Darth Vader, and Elsa.

Both companies have emphasized their shared commitment to the responsible use of AI, setting new standards to protect user safety and the rights of creators in this rapidly evolving entertainment landscape. Sora and ChatGPT Images are expected to begin generating fan-inspired content with these characters in early 2026.
