Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday might be shaping up to deliver one of the most unpredictable multiversal stories yet. According to new reports, the highly anticipated crossover will feature multiple variants of Doctor Doom, including a female version of the iconic Marvel villain.

The claim came from industry insider Daniel Richtman, a Twitter influencer and writer. As per a report by ComicBookMovie, Richtman revealed details in his latest Patreon post, claiming that Avengers: Doomsday has snagged a major piece from The Kang Dynasty, now shifting its focus to Doctor Doom instead.

In that case, Robert Downey Jr. may portray a version of Doom, though this information has not been confirmed by Marvel Studios.

Avengers: Doomsday - The changing multiverse

The MCU’s multiverse first took shape in Loki, after He Who Remains died, which broke the Sacred Timeline and opened up endless alternate versions. As a result of that chaos, the focus shifted toward Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, introducing the Council of Kangs. This arc pointed straight at what was to come next, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, once Jonathan Majors left, Marvel started reshaping its multiverse roadmap. Avengers: The Kang Dynasty has undergone a complete overhaul, and Kang is expected to be written out or sidelined.

Now that the spotlight's shifted, Doc Doom’s reportedly stepping up as a top pick to become the MCU’s go-to bad guy. Recently, Richtman mentioned Avengers: Doomsday could bring in several takes on Doom, as reported by ComicBookMovie. Supposedly, one is female, sparking curiosity around how the movie could reshape Doom’s role throughout alternate realities.

If the claims turn true, Avengers: Doomsday might bring together more stars than any other Marvel movie so far. Chris Hemsworth is back as Thor, while Anthony Mackie steps in again as Captain America; Tom Hiddleston returns too, playing Loki once more.

Letitia Wright reprises her role as Shuri, Paul Rudd swings by as Ant-Man, along with Sebastian Stan, who’s picking up Bucky Barnes’ shield yet again.

Joining them are fresh faces like Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Simu Liu playing Shang-Chi, Wyatt Russell stepping in as US Agent, and Winston Duke reprising M’Baku. As per a Deadline report, Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), James Marsden (Cyclops), and Channing Tatum (Gambit) are also appearing, alongside Pedro Pascal (Mister Fantastic).

If these reports prove accurate, Avengers: Doomsday could represent a turning point for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The introduction of multiple Doom variants, possibly replacing the Council of Kangs, would give Marvel a fresh, complex villain to carry the franchise into its next era.

Whether these Dooms will unite to conquer the multiverse or fight among themselves remains to be seen. However, Doom’s arrival might reshape the MCU in ways fans have never seen before.
