Jane Crowther, chair of the film section, said the picks show a strong inclination towards original works and human-focused stories in a time when there is more and more talk about automation and creative uniformity.

According to Crowther, the movies recognized by the London Critics Circle Awards exhibit a strong focus on distinct voices, real-life experiences, and artistic daring.
