10 Dance cast & characters: Meet the stars behind the film and the roles they play

Keishi Otomo's film adaptation of the popular manga, 10 Dance, is set to debut globally on Netflix on December 18, 2025. The story centers on two champion dancers who share the same first name and a fierce rivalry: Shinya Suzuki (played by Ryoma Takeuchi), the best in Latin Dance, and Shinya Sugiki (played by Keita Machida), a top Standard Ballroom dancer.

The plot kicks off when Sugiki challenges Suzuki to team up for the grueling 10-Dance Competition, which demands mastery of both their opposing styles. Though they have completely different personalities and clash often during training, they must teach each other their expert techniques.

As they push each other to be better, their rivalry gives way to a strong, unspoken connection. This partnership soon sparks unexpected romantic feelings between the two men, turning their high-stakes competition into a passionate journey of self-discovery and love. The film also features supporting roles from Shiori Doi and Anna Ishii.

One of the lead stars in 10 Dance, Ryoma Takeuchi is a highly famous figure in Japanese entertainment, famous for lead roles across television and films. He is best known for his role in the popular tokusatsu series Kamen Rider Drive (2014-2015), where he starred as Shinnosuke Tomari/Kamen Rider Drive.

Fans also know Takeuchi for his main role in the long-running zombie thriller series Love You as the World Ends (2021-2024), where he played Hibiki Mamiya. His other notable roles include his performance in the hit drama Overprotected Kahoko and the lead role as Kazuma Kiryu in the live-action adaptation of the video game Like a Dragon: Yakuza (2024).

Another lead star in 10 Dance, Keita Machida, rose to international fame as Daikichi Karube in Netflix's survival thriller series Alice in Borderland (2020–2022).

Machida is also celebrated for his lead role as Yuichi Kurosawa in the romantic comedy series Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?! (2020). He is also known for playing Noboru in the action-packed High&Low franchise and recently appeared as Koenma in the Netflix fantasy series Yu Yu Hakusho (2023).
