Tennis couples have become a rare sight on the tour, with Alex de Minaur being one of the few notable names having a partner from the sport in the form of Katie Boulter. Two prominent pairings came undone this year. Jannik Sinner parted ways with fellow pro Anna Kalinskaya, while Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa's relationship broke down as well.
Ben Shelton and Coco Gauff found love this year, although their better halves aren't from the world of tennis. The former is dating soccer star Trinity Rodman, while the latter is committed to Jalen Sera.
The sport is yet to see a power couple on the level of Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf. However, the handful of active pairings on the tour enjoy a considerable level of success, and deliver some stunning performances and drama. With that in mind, here's a look at how the current tennis couples fared in 2025:
#3. Tallon Griekspoor and Anastasia Potapova

Following her divorce with fellow pro Alexander Shevchenko in September 2024, Anastasia Potapova found comfort in the arms of Tallon Griekspoor. The pair got together earlier this year, with the public only catching wind of their romance once they saw the Russian sitting in her boyfriend's player box from time to time.
They eventually went public with their romance, and were recently seen holidaying in the Maldives. When it came to tennis, both claimed a trophy for themselves this year. Griekspoor reached his first final in two years at the Grand Prix Hassan II in Morocco, only to falter in the summit clash.
Griekspoor bounced back a few months later with a title at the Mallorca Championships, the third of his career. He reached the fourth round of the French Open for the first time, his best finish at a Major so far. He also advanced to his maiden Masters 1000 quarterfinal at the Indian Wells Masters. He finished the season ranked No. 25.
Potapova nabbed her first title in over two years at the Transylvania Open in February. It marked her third career title. She didn't progress beyond the second round at any Major, and fourth-round appearances at the Madrid Open and the China Open were her best results at the WTA 1000 level. She skipped her last couple of tournaments of the season due to an injury.
#2. Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina

The only married tennis couple on the tour, Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina navigated a whirlwind season. The duo celebrated their fourth anniversary this year. Both started the year on a strong note, though they couldn't end the season on a high.
Monfils claimed his 13th career title at the ASB Classic in Auckland, and carried this momentum to a fourth-round finish at the Australian Open. However, his form took a hit following his fourth-round exit from the Miami Open. Injuries also played their part.
Monfils won only four more matches for the remainder of the season, and wrapped up the year on a five-match losing streak. He ended his season prematurely after an injury at the Chengdu Open in September. He eventually announced he would retire following the end of the 2026 season.
Svitolina made the quarterfinals of the Australian Open and the French Open, and bagged her 18th career title in Rouen. She also made the semifinals of the Madrid Open, and the quarterfinals of three other WTA 1000 tournaments. However, she called time on her season following the Billie Jean King Cup Finals in September.
Svitolina shared she wasn't in the right headspace but vowed to return stronger next year. While she didn't specify the cause of her anguish, it's not that difficult to guess. Her home country, Ukraine, has been in conflict with Russia for over three years now. She has always been quite vocal of the harm done to her country, and it must not have been easy for her to continue playing in these trying times.
#1. Alex de Minaur and Katie Boulter

After over four years of dating, Alex de Minaur and Katie Boulter got engaged in December 2024. The couple enjoyed mixed fortunes on the court in 2025. While de Minaur cemented his position as one of the tour's consistent players, Boulter couldn't sustain her place among the tour's elite.
De Minaur reached a couple of Major quarterfinals, as well as the semifinals of the ATP Finals. He compiled a career-best 56-24 record, won his 10th career title at the Citi DC Open, and finished the season ranked No. 7.
Boulter started the season ranked No. 24. However, she only made two quarterfinals at the WTA level this year. She did win a Challenger title, though that didn't stop her slide down the rankings. She is currently ranked outside the top 100, and could have to go through the qualifying rounds of the Australian Open 2026.
