Coco Gauff has quickly made a name for herself on the WTA Tour. Despite tough competition from her peers, she maintained her composure and produced a solid performance this year.

First up, Coco Gauff stole the show on her United Cup debut.

Gauff missed the Auckland Open this year and represented Team USA in the United Cup. She partnered alongside Taylor Fritz, Denis Kudla, Danielle Collins, Robert Galloway, and Desirae Krawczyk.

The American won all five matches at the event. She defeated Leylah Fernandez and Karolina Muchova in the initial few rounds and then provided the killer blow against Iga Swiatek. Gauff humbled the Pole in straight sets in the final, 6-4, 6-4.

Coco Gauff entered the clay court swing after ordinary results in Melbourne, Indian Wells, and Miami. She reached the quarterfinals of the Australian Open but lost to Paula Badosa in straight sets.

Coco Gauff was named the highest-paid female athlete in 2025, earning about $37.6 million in the past year. The list of the top 10 highest-paid tennis players includes Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner. According to Forbes, no female athlete earned more money than Gauff.

The American earned $12.2 million in prize money, with the French Open and the WTA Finals giving her the biggest boosts. She also made around $25 million from sponsors, and that number could rise even higher in the future.

#4. Claims her third WTA 1000 crown at the Wuhan Open 2025

Coco Gauff continued her happy knack of winning a title during the Asian swing. She captured the China Open last year and the Wuhan Open in 2025.

Gauff started her campaign in Wuhan by cruising past Laura Siegemund and Jasmine Paolini in the initial few rounds. She then eliminated Jessica Pegula in the final, 6-4, 7-5.

The American dethroned three-time champion Aryna Sabalenka at the Wuhan Open. She also clinched the title without dropping a set.

Gauff has now won three WTA 1000 titles in her career. Apart from the China Open in 2024 and the Wuhan Open in 2025, she also claimed the honors at the Cincinnati Open in 2023.

Next up, Coco Gauff made sure to retain the third spot in the WTA Rankings this year.

Gauff struggled to regain her momentum after a strong season on clay. She failed to register a win on grass and opted out of events such as the Queen's Club, Nottingham Open, and Eastbourne this year.

The 21-year-old still managed to gain some valuable points on tour by reaching the quarterfinals in Cincinnati and the semifinals in Beijing. She also reached the fourth round of the US Open but lost to Naomi Osaka in straight sets.

Gauff is around 1500 points behind Iga Swiatek in the WTA Rankings. She will face competition from Amanda Anisimova and Elena Rybakina for the third spot next year.
