The WTA Finals 2025 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, will conclude yet another exciting season on the women's tour. The year's top eight players will battle it out from November 1 to 8 to be crowned as the best of the best.
With only the very best in the mix, the season-ending championships often produce a high level of tennis throughout the week. With that in mind, here's everything to know about this year's edition of the WTA Finals:
What is the WTA Finals?
It is an annual tournament held towards the end of the season. Eight players with the most points in a season get to participate. It is the most significant tournament on the tour following the four Majors.
The current format, which has been in force since 2003, divides the eight players into two groups of four. The top two players from each group advance to the semifinals, and the winners square off in the final. Martina Navratilova holds the record for most singles titles with eight, followed by Steffi Graf and Serena Williams with five each.
WTA Finals 2025: Player List and Seeds

Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff, Amanda Anisimova, Jessica Pegula, Elena Rybakina, Madison Keys and Jasmine Paolini make up the elite eight at this year's WTA Finals.
World No. 1 Sabalenka is the top seed. She won a tour-leading four titles this year, including the US Open. Swiatek is the second seed this time. She won three titles, with the biggest of them coming at Wimbledon.
Defending champion Gauff is seeded third. She won the French Open and recently bagged her second title of the season at the Wuhan Open. Anisimova is making her tournament debut and is the fourth seed. She captured two WTA 1000 titles and finished as the runner-up at Wimbledon and the US Open.
Pegula and Rybakina are seeded fifth and sixth, respectively. Both won a couple of WTA 500 titles. Keys is the seventh seed. She made an impressive start to the season by winning her maiden Major title at the Australian Open. She will be keen to end the year on a high as well.
Paolini wraps up the field as the eighth seed. She has qualified in singles and doubles for the second consecutive year. She won one title in singles, which came in front of her home crowd at the Italian Open.

This year's groups are named after two of the most accomplished players in the sport, Serena Williams and Steffi Graf. Sabalenka, Gauff, Pegula and Paolini are in Group Steffi Graf. Swiatek, Anisimova, Rybakina and Keys are in Group Serena Williams.
WTA Finals 2025: Prize Money and Ranking Points
The total prize money for this year's edition stands at $15.5 million. An undefeated champion in singles will receive $5.2 million, the highest payout in the history of women's tennis. If a player wins the tournament with just one loss during the group stage, then she will receive $4.8 million in prize money.
An undefeated champion will gain a total of 1,500 points. Each win during the group stage nets 200 points. A semifinal win adds another 400 points to the total, with a win in the final securing the remaining 500 points.
WTA Finals 2025: Schedule
The tournament will begin on Saturday, November 1. Four matches will be played each day during the group stage, two singles and doubles ties, until Thursday, November 6. The semifinals will take place on Friday, November 7.
The championship rounds will be contested on Saturday, November 8. The doubles final will take place at 4:00 p.m. local time, followed by the singles final at 7:00 p.m.
