WATCH: Novak Djokovic’s wife Jelena emotionally clings to 19-year-old poodle Pierre in heartfelt moment

Novak Djokovic and his wife Jelena are well-known dog lovers. They have two poodles in their house, Pierre and Tesla. Both of them have become beloved parts of their family.

On Sunday, Jelena shared a heartfelt reflection with her 19-year old poodle Pierre. In the clip, she’s seen snuggling and gently interacting with Pierre on the couch. She captioned the moment:

"Counting my blessings ❤️🙏 Next year, I’ll be 40, and Pierre will be 19!💕💕💕 Poodles can live forever right? 😳🙈"

Both poodles have been with the family since at least early 2011, as they regularly appeared in photographs with the couple and their family, which also includes their son Stefan and daughter Tara.

In April 2024, Jelena Djokovic shared a series of photos and moments of his family, involving their poodle Pierre. She captioned the post:

"Not sure if we found him or he found us ☺️ luckily, none of us is lost anymore 🥰"

Novak Djokovic and his wife Jelena have actively encouraged people to adopt dogs from shelter homes instead of buying them from breeders. Over the years, Jelena has shared details regarding adoption campaigns and even highlighted the problem of abandoned animals.

Back in June 2013, he made a post on Facebook, asking his friends and followers to find a home for a dog named Bella.

“This morning my friends from Dog Trust came to see me and brought along a play date for Pierre," he wrote on the social media platform. "She is a beautiful 1 year old Goldendoodle, who was just recently left by her owners. Jelena and I named her Bella because she is so beautiful and white (in Serbian white is Bela too). “So I committed to helping them find her a new family.
