On Tuesday, Novak Djokovic and his wife Jelena were part of a Christmas event at the 91 Athens Riviera Members Club. They were joined by Greek singer Konstantinos Argiros in a lively hasaposerviko dance, a traditional Greek folk dance.

Argiros performed his hit song "Eleftheros," and Djokovic jumped on the dance floor with him, giving way to some signature Greek dance moves. The celebration was captured on video and was later shared on the internet.

The video comes after Djokovic's controversial departure from his country, Serbia, to the suburbs of Athens with his family, including wife Jelena and their two children, son Stefan and daughter Tara. Even the locals are happy with Djokovic's transition as they cheered his name during the Hellenic Championship. The Serb won that event, defeating Italy's Lorenzo Mussetti in the final.

The 24-time Grand Slam champion is now reportedly applying for a Greek Golden Visa, which will grant him citizenship in exchange for investment in the country.

What Novak Djokovic has said about moving from Serbia to Greece

Novak Djokovic has openly spoken about what made Greece appealing to settle for the long term with his family. He cited the country's rich culture and tradition as among the reasons why he chose to come here in the first place.

"There are a lot of historical, religious, cultural, social ties between Greece and Serbia that are a big part of the reason why I'm here," Djokovic said via Deccan Chronicle.

"It is also because of the weather, the food is incredible, you are on one of the nicest coastlines in Europe, in the world. I just love the lifestyle, you know, and I really feel that the Greek and Serbian people are like brothers, so this is the biggest reason."

Djokovic's children, Stefan and Tara, have reportedly been enrolled at St. Lawrence College, a British school with a tennis court. Djokovic is also looking forward to starting his own academy there, and he is reportedly in the middle of finding a perfect space to kick-start things.

Meanwhile, his move out of Serbia has been getting tied to political tensions within the country. Djokovic allegedly raised questions when he posted on X in December regarding his support for student-led protests against President Aleksandar Vucic and his Serbian Progressive Party.

"As someone who deeply believes in the strength of young people and their desire for a better future, I believe it is important that their voice be heard," Djokovic wrote.

In the wake of this, Serbian media have called out the tennis legend. As such, Djokovic is keeping his family's interests at the center and has therefore reportedly moved out of the country.
