On Thursday, Townsend posted a short clip of both American tennis stars trying to dance while on a jet ski. From trying to balance themselves on a jet ski to trying to make reels, the duo had quite a moment in the waters.

"Up thru derrreee to Shenan-Again with @naomiosaka 🤩🏝️✨" Townsend wrote in the caption.

Earlier, Taylor Townsend and Naomi Osaka performed a viral lip-sync video on the yacht and danced to a mash-up remix of Beez in the Trap by Nicki Minaj and What’s Up? by 4 Non Blondes.

"In the ocean trap with @naomiosaka #offseason," Townsend captioned the post.

Naomi Osaka defends Taylor Townsend amid US Open row

Taylor Townsend had a controversial moment after her second-round win against Jelena Ostapenko. After the loss, Ostapenko allegedly accused Townsend of having "no class" and "no education."

“She told me I have no class, I have no education, and to see what happens when we get outside the US,” Townsend said.

Since Townsend is black, some found this comment racially abusive. Among those included was Naomi Osaka, who said it was the worst thing one can say about a black tennis player.

"I think obviously it’s one of the worst things you can say to a black tennis player in a majority white sport," Osaka said. “Granted, I know Taylor and I know how hard she’s worked and I know how smart she is, so she’s the furthest thing from uneducated or anything like that.

"If you are genuinely asking me about the history of Ostapenko, I don’t think that’s the craziest thing she has said. It was bad timing and the worst person she could have said that to. I don’t know if she knows the history of it in America and she will never say that again, but it’s just terrible. That was really bad."

A few days later, Ostapenko posted an apology on Instagram. She said English isn’t her first language and claimed she didn’t mean to be racist. She was regretful about her choice of words. Meanwhile, Townsend acknowledged her apology.
