Ben Shelton's girlfriend Trinity Rodman delivered a rather playful take on camera about why she is currently in a romantic relationship with the American ATP star. According to Rodman, the 23-year-old USWNT soccer sensation, her sole motivation of being in the relationship is all about spending Shelton's money to fulfill her own materialistic desires.

On Thursday, December 11, the official YouTube channel of ATP singles No. 9 Shelton posted a video titled, 'The Long Game with Ben Shelton'. The documentary-style video shows rare behind-the-scenes footage of the three-time career singles titlist and his team from the American's campaigns at this year's US Open and ATP Finals.

At one point in the video, Ben Shelton and Trinity Rodman can be seen traveling in a car. Here, the soccer star pokes Shelton about saying on record what he told her off-camera. The 2025 Canadian Open champion responds:

"Anything she wants. You know that song by, uh, who is that? Bryson Tiller?" (referring to the American R&B singer's 2024 single, 'Whatever She Wants') (at 8:06)

A few moments later, Rodman urges Shelton to take her out shopping and also jokes about paying for the things she buys with the ATP star's card. Subsequently, she talks about money being the real reason behind her decision to be romantically involved with Shelton.

"All right, cool. We're going shopping. And we're going to use your card, because I'm in it for the money," Rodman says. (at 8:19)

In the same video, Ben Shelton recalled the beginning of his and Trinity Rodman's conversations, which eventually led to the pair falling head over heels in love with each other. Shelton playfully claimed that the USWNT forward 'slid into his DMs'.

"We just met through the ground. No, actually, she slid into mine (DMs)," Shelton said.

Despite both athletes still being only 23, their romantic relationship already appears incredibly solid in terms of how they turn up to support each other. Rodman attended numerous tennis matches featuring Shelton this year, while the ATP star also attended some of the USWNT star's soccer matches.

Most notably, Shelton was there to comfort an inconsolable Rodman at the NWSL Championship finale, where the soccer star's team, Washington Spirit, finished second-best for the second straight year. The ATP star is currently enjoying the brief tennis off season, but is set to begin preparations for the upcoming 2026 season soon.
