The Ultimate Tennis Showdown's London Grand Final is already underway at the iconic Copper Box Arena. The event is unlike a traditional ATP tournament and is known to be fast-paced and entertaining.
Several top stars like Alex de Minaur, Casper Ruud, Jack Draper and Andrey Rublev will be competing to get their hands on the coveted trophy and the handsome prize money that comes along with it.
Here's everything you need to know about the Ultimate Tennis Showdown:
What is Ultimate Tennis Showdown?
The Ultimate Tennis Showdown was founded by Serena Williams' former coach, Patrick Mouratoglou, and is known to be energetic and more entertaining than a traditional ATP tournament.
Unlike traditional tennis matches, the scorecard have quarters instead of sets. Players are mic'd up to make the entire setting more interactive right from the court.
UTS 2025 Rules:
Quarters:
Every match will have four eight-minute quarters. The person who wins most points during that time wins the quarter. If the quarters are tied 2-2, then the match goes to sudden death or populary referred to as 'KO.'
Shot Clock:
There is a 15-second shot clock for every point. Moreover, there are no second serves here. If you fault your first serve, you lose a point.
UTS Cards:
The match gets more exciting as players get "tactical" cards, which they can use at any point in a match. This includes:
- Next point = 3 points
- Opponent only gets one serve
- Serve takeover
KO Mode Breakdown:
As mentioned above, we reach this stage when the first four quarters end with a 2-2 tie. In this KO mode, the first person to win two consecutive points wins the match.
