As the tennis off-season draws rapidly to a close, players are making the most of their free time, including Amanda Anisimova and Iga Swiatek. Both had incredibly successful outings in 2025. She has led her team to two finals so far, and they came up short on each occasion. They lost to Germany despite having a championship point in 2024, and went down to the Americans in 2025.Amanda Anisimova will kick off the new year by participating in the Brisbane International. The entry list for the tournament features seven top 10 players, led by World No.1 and defending champion Aryna Sabalenka. These will be the only warm-up events for Swiatek and Anisimova prior to the Australian Open. Despite being on the tour for years, their rivalry only ignited this year. Swiatek won their first meeting, a 6-0, 6-0 demolition of Anisimova in the Wimbledon final. The American took that loss personally, and won their next two matches at the US Open and the WTA Finals. Their next meeting is highly anticipated given how their rivalry is shaping up.
