Taylor Townsend wasn't well on Thanksgiving, and the American shared an update about her health status from the emergency room. She confirmed that her illness isn't severe and thanked her fans for their support.
Townsend shared two posts on Instagram on Thursday. The first was a brief video of her lying down and striking a pose despite being unwell in the emergency room of an undisclosed medical facility. The 29-year-old captioned this post:
"Over it 🫠🤧"

Around an hour later, Taylor Townsend shared another picture from the emergency room. The doubles No. 2 wore a warm, hooded blanket.
"I'm ok yall! Thanks for checking on me ❤️Also this @officialsnuggie is saving me with these chills 🙏🏽," Townsend wrote.

On the tennis front, Townsend's 2025 season came to an end at the WTA Finals.
Taylor Townsend and Katerina Siniakova finished 2025 as semifinalists at WTA Finals

Taylor Townsend and Katerina Siniakova earned a spot in the doubles event of the WTA Final in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The American and Czech pairing won all three round robin matches to reach the semifinals.
Unfortunately for the second seeds, their campaign ended in the last four. Despite going a set up against the No. 4 seeds, Elise Mertens and Veronika Kudermetova, the American and the Czech lost the next two sets to exit the prestigious tournament.
All in all, 2025 was a memorable year for Townsend, who reached a career-high ranking of World No. 1 in women's doubles, becoming the first mother on the WTA Tour to reach the summit of a tennis discipline. She also won the Australian Open doubles title, partnering Siniakova.
However, Townsend was involved in a couple of controversies as well, most notably her criticism of Chinese cuisine while in Shenzhen, China, for the Billie Jean King Cup Finals. The American later issued an apology.
