Taylor Townsend "flabbergasted" after seeing son Adyn 'spit' in the face of helper in front of her

Taylor Townsend shared an anecdote about her son, Adyn Aubrey Johnson, who left her "flabbergasted" with his mischief. The American is enjoying her time away from the sport after competing at the WTA Finals.

Townsend competed in the doubles tournament of the WTA Finals in Riyadh, where she was paired with Katerina Siniakova. They advanced to the semifinals, where they faced Elise Mertens and Veronika Kudermetova, who dominated the round and progressed to the finals after registering a 4-6, 7-6(6), 10-6 win.

Following this heartbreak, Townsend took a break from her on-court duties. Taking to her Instagram story, she shared a video, narrating an incident with her son, saying:

"I am just so flabbergasted right now. My son literally just blew my fu****g top. Like, we are literally sitting here. I am sitting in the chair, he is sitting in the middle, and his caretaker, and she says something and he literally like has food in his mouth and he goes, *enacts spitting*. The way that I just, you see that I am speechless. Are you kidding me? Spit in the face?" said Taylor Townsend.

Townsend also penned a caption that read:

"Kid will really just take you to a different mental state instantly."

Following that, Townsend shared another video on her Instagram story, where she made her feelings known about the occurrence.

"And the craziest part about it is like, I went for a run, I was on a show, just talking about how grateful I am. I am in a great mood, made a really good dinner, like quick but good dinner and then this sh*t happens. This is just like you go from one mental state to the next mental state and it is like this is why we are like not okay. This is why we are unhinged. This is why. Why do you make me go like from gratitude to like f**k you up instantly. I don't get it. Any mom knows what I am talking about."

Earlier this year, in June, Townsend opened up about the struggles she endured while balancing motherhood and her tennis career.

While Taylor Townsend was competing at the Cincinnati Open, she shared an endearing glimpse from her personal life. Taking to her Instagram story, the American posted a picture of her son, Adyn, on his first day at pre-K.

The photo featured him dressed in a red t-shirt with a board in his hand that mentioned, '1st day of pre-K'. Opening up about her son's first day, she got emotional.

"I’m not crying… you are. Where has the time gone! My baby isn’t a baby anymore," said Taylor Townsend.

In the Cincinnati Open campaign, Taylor Townsend reached the Round of 32, where she contested against Jessica Bouzas Maneiro, who registered a 6-4, 6-1 win against the American.
