"Spreading legs sitting next to women, embarrassing" - Fans irked by Ben Shelton & Nick Kyrgios' 'manspreading' beside Naomi Osaka & Aryna Sabalenka

Ben Shelton and Nick Kyrgios recently featured in a fun and playful video alongside Naomi Osaka and Aryna Sabalenka, with the video being a part of The Atlanta Cup exhibition event's promotions. However, the way Shelton and Kyrgios sat spreading their legs out wide while the video was recorded left plenty of tennis fans irked.

In the clip, the four stars were asked to play a fun game of 'naughty or nice', which involved them picking one from two options when the name of a player was mentioned. For instance, reigning ATP No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz's name was given to them first, to which everyone apart from Sabalenka went with 'naughty'.

Several fans on X (formerly Twitter) though were more drawn to how Ben Shelton and Nick Kyrgios were sitting on the sides spreading their legs out wide, leaving Naomi Osaka and Aryna Sabalenka with little option but to keep their legs folded, looking rather lacking in space.

"Men spreading their legs when sitting next to women is the most embarrassing thing they can do to sabotage their own image," one fan wrote.

"The manspreading is so effing annoying," commented another.

"The leg spreading from the men…I just know they smell," another fan chimed in.

"This clip is really a reflection of society," one opined.

"Close yall legs omg i hate men," added another.

"The amount of space taken up by the women vs men in this video is sooo 💀," weighed in yet another fan.

Ben Shelton and Aryna Sabalenka came out as winners in Atlanta exhibition

The Atlanta Cup exhibition event took place on Saturday, December 6, at the Gas South Arena in Duluth, Georgia. Here, reigning WTA No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka and former No. 1 Naomi Osaka, both Major champions, took to the court first.

The Japanese gave the Belarusian a tough fight, but ultimately, the latter secured a hard-fought 6-3, 4-6, 10-4 win. Up next, ATP stars Ben Shelton and Nick Kyrgios locked horns. This particular contest was more one-sided than the one played out by Osaka and Sabalenka, as the American registered a 7-6, 6-3 victory against the Australian.

Later this month, Sabalenka and Kyrgios are set to be in close proximity once more, this time for the latest installment of the 'Battle of the Sexes' in Dubai, with both players having laid bare their intent to win the match.
