Gauff finished her 2025 season by competing at the WTA Finals in Riyadh. She advanced to the third group stage, where she locked horns with Aryna Sabalenka. The latter dominated the match and bested the American by registering a 7-6(6), 6-2 win. Almost a month after the 21-year-old entered her off-season, she got a five-year deal with Mercedes-Benz.

The German brand has become the official partner of the WTA. They will sponsor £37.5M per year into women's tennis for 10 years. Gauff became the face of this deal, as she became the new global brand ambassador. Caitlin Thompson and Stubbs spoke about this deal in the latter's latest episode of 'The Rennae Stubbs Tennis Podcast.' (19:22 onwards)

"Massive hats off and congratulations to the WTA Tour because that is a huge turn of events and Coco has been tapped as the face of this, which you cannot get a better brand ambassador, probably can't really get a better human and obviously somebody who really transcends the sport to be your brand ambassador," Thompson said.

Replying to it, Stubbs said:

"So Coco. I feel like a G-Wagon is coming up into her driveway real soon. For sure.”
