Ahead of the start of the 2025 tennis season, many wondered if this was the year thatSebastian Korda would finally deliver on his potential by winning titles and making deep runs at the Majors. Unfortunately for the American, things played out rather differently.

Hit by injuries and inconsistency, Korda was well below his best. His best finish at a Major was at the French Open, where he reached the third round. Overall, Korda finished 2025 with a 22-18 win-loss record. Having started the year as the World No. 22, he ended it 26 places below, reflecting his erratic on-court displays.

However, he ended the season on a bit of a high at the Hellenic Championship in Athens, Greece. Unseeded at the ATP 250 hardcourt event, Korda defeated Alexei Popyrin, Damir Dzumhur and Miomir Kecmanovic to reach the semifinals, where he was beaten by eventual runner-up and No. 2 seed Lorenzo Musetti.
