Roger Federer once produced a gorgeous tweener lob against Sam Querrey at the Wimbledon Championships, catching the American out completely with the audacity, creativity and precision of the shot. Querrey recently revisited the moment and put a rather hilarious spin on it using a viral TikTok trend. At the 2015 Wimbledon Championships, the Swiss and the American clashed in the second-round. Here, Sam Querrey found himself serving a set down and trailing 2-4 in the second. He went on to hit a serve that required Roger Federer to produce a one-handed backhand return. The American then hit a forehand out wide, but the Swiss produced a deft backhand slice to cleverly bring the then-27-year-old Querrey to the net. While he kept the rally going with a rather flat backhand slice volley of his own, the American was already in all sorts of trouble. The crafty Swiss, quick to spot the huge gap Querrey had left behind him by coming to the net, hit a tweener lob. The ball floated in the air for quite some time before bouncing off of the prestigious SW19 grass. The American managed to catch up to the shot, but by then, it was too little too late, as his attempted forehand return tamely hit the bottom of the net, giving the point to the smiling Swiss. On Wednesday, December 10, Sam Querrey used the "In your 20s, there will be" TikTok trend to revisit the iconic moment and hilariously troll himself through an Instagram video. The 38-year-old's in-video caption went:"In your 20s, Roger Federer will invite you to come to the net... It's very important you don't do that." The Swiss, for the vast majority of his career, was characterized by his cool and calm on-court demeanor. However, according to the American, this calmness had a flipside and when the Swiss did engage in rare acts of celebrating points, it meant game over for his opponents."There’s nothing more intimidating in tennis than a Roger Federer like, ‘Come on!’ or celebrations. It’s the most intimidating thing in tennis. It's ‘cause he does it so infrequently that when he does it might as well shake hands," Querrey said on an episode of the Nothing Major podcast.Querrey, in four competitive meetings against the Swiss, was unable to win a single set. Their final competitive clash before their respective retirements came at the 2017 Laver Cup, where the former No. 1, representing Team Europe, registered a 6-4, 6-2 victory against Team World's Querrey.
