"I will be back" - Bianca Andreescu's looked forward to 2026 tennis season with optimism

In early October this year, Bianca Andreescu sat down for a revealing interview with Tennis365 in Wuhan, China. Here, the Canadian was asked if she has set any goals for herself in terms of what she wants to achieve in the 2026 tennis season.
In response, Andreescu stated that she hasn't set any specific targets for 2026. She also disclosed that she was taking her participation in the WTA Tour's Asian swing of events as preparation for next year's Australian Open in January.
"I haven’t (set any targets for 2026), no. I’m just taking this block as sort of like a pre-season for Australia. I’m hoping to qualify for the Australian Open and in general, I’m just happy to be back on court. I still have that go-getter mentality and sometimes I tell myself; ‘Hey, you went through this once, you can do it again’," Andreescu said.
Subsequently, the Canadian laid bare her optimism about rediscovering her finest form in the near future, saying:
"Sometimes I have to look at what I’ve achieved and give myself a pat on the back. I will be back. I really believe that. It’s just a matter of time and I really want this. I enjoy the lifestyle more than ever before. I’m loving being here in Wuhan, I have great people around me and I really want this."
On the tennis front, Andreescu most recently played at the Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo, where she competed in both women's singles and doubles categories. She finished the 2025 season with a singles ranking of 230 and a doubles ranking of 156.
