Amanda Anisimova and Priscilla Hon were seen relaxing by the pool after Anisimova’s third-round exit in the Brisbane International. Despite a resilient performance against Marta Kostyuk, the Ukrainian defeated her in straight sets, 7-6(7), 6-3.

Anisimova had a amazing season last year. Apart from runner-up finishes in Wimbledon and New York, she also clinched the title in Doha and Beijing.

The 24-year-old made her first appearance of the season in Brisbane this week. After her early exit at the event, she was spotted enjoying some downtime poolside in bikinis with close friend Priscilla Hon.

Anisimova and Hon are known to be best friends on tour. Hon also entered the Brisbane International this week, but was eliminated by Yulia Putintseva in the first qualification round.

Anisimova spoke about the bond she shares with Hon during a recent interview in Brisbane. She referred to the Australian as her best friend and was delighted to explore the town with her.

“She’s the coolest,” Amanda Anisimova said, having spent the day taking in boutiques and eateries in trendy James Street. “I went shopping again yesterday ’cause I just, like, love the clothing stores here. Oh, we also went to the movies , I finally got to watch this one movie I wanted to see, The Housemaid. Everyone’s been raving about it. It was actually really good."

The American is making her debut at the Brisbane International this week. She will be eager to prepare well for the Australian Open next, which begins on January 18 (Main Draw action).

“I mean, not even just here, but like having a best friend on tour is so special for me, especially someone like Pri, who's just so much fun and also a great friend. It can get really tough on tour and sometimes lonely, so to have a friend like that has been just the best. And yeah, I finally got to be back here in Brisbane," Amanda Anisimova added

Amanda Anisimoca was ranked outside the top 30 in 2024. She is currently among the top five players in the world. The American reflected on her performances in the last couple of years and felt she was much more consistent in 2025.

"I think consistency was something that I struggled with in previous years,” she said. I think last year was the first year where I was actually quite a consistent player. That was something that was always kind of like the goal and how do I really get there," Amanda Anisimova said

The American also felt the schedule was tought to deal on the WTA tour. She was delighted to adapt well last year and was ready to take on new challenges in 2026.

“It takes a lot of work because the tournaments are so demanding and just the schedule is really tough … I think last year I really grew into the person and athlete I am now, and I feel like I'm really able to take on a lot of those challenges," she added

Anisimova made her debut in the WTA Finals last year. She reached the semifinals in Riyadh, but lost to Aryna Sabalenka in three sets. The American will be expected to make a deep run at the 2026 Australian Open. She reached the second round last year, but lost to Emma Raducanu, 6-3, 7-5.
