It's unclear when or exactly why Djokovic and his family moved to Athens, but The Telegraph reported that the move occurred amid the former World No. 1's declining reputation in the eyes of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić.

Djokovic has repeatedly shown support for student protests against Vucic and the Serbian Progressive Party, following which he has faced backlash from government-sponsored media.

On Friday, Jelena shared a rather humorous Reel originally made by content creator Alexia Valiakou, which shows a student in a classroom setting struggling to grasp the Greek alphabet, despite the teacher's best efforts. Reflecting on how she can relate to the confused student, Jelena captioned her post:

"We as a family are trying to see how life flows here. The experience… We have been here for just under two months, but so far it has been a very positive experience," the 38-year-old told CNN Greece.

During his title run in Athens, Djokovic engaged with the crowd in Greek for a short while, once again showcasing his polyglot side. The World No. 4 is fluent in seven languages.

After triumphing in the Greek capital, Djokovic chose to pull out of the year-end ATP Finals in Turin, citing a shoulder injury. He is likely to return to the court next year as he continues his chase for a 25th Grand Slam crown.
