Djokovic ended his season by winning the Hellenic Championships last year. He also claimed the honours in Geneva and secured a runner-up finish in Miami.

Former Australian pro Luke Saville spoke about Djokovic's chances of achieving success at any of the Majors. He felt the 38-year-old could rise to the occasion in Melbourne and Wimbledon next year.

"So, I've got him making one final and two semis. Might be regretting, I'm thinking he might be good for one title, one slam. Just feel like he's been almost pacing himself a little bit the last few months and just gearing up for, you know, obviously the last couple of years of his career."

"Olympics in a couple of years as well. He is definitely prioritizing the slams, no doubt. He says that all the time. I feel like Wimbledon and the AO are his best chances," Luke Saville said on 'The Tennis' podcast (time 3:15)

Djokovic reached the semifinals of all four Major events in 2025. Despite a spirited performance against Jannik Sinner, he lost to the Italian in Paris and Wimbledon. Meanwhile, Alcaraz also defeated him at the US Open in September.

Luke Saville's sister, Daria Saville, also shared her opinion on 'The Tennis podcast' and felt that the Serb would reach at least two semifinals this year. She agreed with Luke's assessment of Djokovic's chances next year.

"I have listed two semifinals, but I feel like I'm very much underestimating Novak Djokovic. Yeah, I actually very much agree with what Luke said. I've put down two semifinals. So it's like, the least he's going to do is two semifinals. His worst results will be semifinals," Daria Saville said

The Brit joined Luke Saville and Daria Saville via a phonecall on 'The Tennis' podcast. He stated that Djokovic's chances were dependent on Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner losing their track at the Majors.

"He could make another Grand Slam final, but I think he relies on someone else beating Alcaraz or Sinner. I think it would be interesting to see what happens with his ranking and seeding, whether he has to play one of those Alcaraz or Sinner in the quarters, or whether he's protected and we play them in the semis, but I just think it's the physicality," Tim Henman said

Henman also added that Sinner and Alcaraz were getting better and could be dominant next year.

"You know, the recovery when you get older, and it certainly doesn't get any easier. And the scary thing is, I think Alcaraz and Sinner are getting better, given they're 14 years younger, whatever it is. It's a scary thought. So, look, I feel pretty confident that unless something strange happens, it will be Alcaraz and Sinner in the final in Melbourne," he added

Novak Djokovic has lost three times to Jannik Sinner at the Majors since 2024. He defeated Carlos Alcaraz at the 2025 Australian Open, but lost to the Spaniard in New York the same year.

The 24-time Grand Slam champion is a 14/1 favorite to win the Australian Open next year (As per Oddschecker). Defending champion Jannik Sinner is the top favourite (5/6) to retain his title next year.
