Nick Kyrgios is open to giving pickleball a shot in the future, according to his own admission. His tennis career has been heavily interrupted by a string of injuries and surgeries over the past two years. He embarked on a comeback earlier this year, which was put on hold after a handful of matches.Kyrgios is no stranger to the world of pickleball. He already co-owns the Miami Pickleball Club, and has played a few exhibition matches in the discipline. Connor Pardoe, the CEO of the Pickleball Players Association (PPA), recently took to X (formerly Twitter), suggesting a link-up between the Aussie and former pro Jack Sock on the pickleball tour.Sock, who retired from tennis in 2023, has turned to pickleball since then. He played a few matches in the wake of his retirement, and eventually made his debut on the pickleball tour in 2024. He responded in the affirmative to Pardoe with regards to partnering Kyrgios. "PPA 2026…..@JackSock92 & @NickKyrgios @thepicklr and @JorgeBarraganPB" Pardoe on X."It’ll happen," Sock responded. This exchange was brought to Kyrgios' notice on Instagram, where he stated that he's open to trading his racket for a paddle. "I might dabble," Kyrgios on Instagram.Screenshot of Nick Kyrgios' Instagram story. They also won a couple of titles as a pair, including the final title of Sock's career at the Citi DC Open 2022. Given their friendship, it wouldn't be surprising to see him considering this offer.Kyrgios wouldn't be the first player to give pickleball a shot while being an active tennis player. Former top 10 player and Wimbledon finalist Eugenie Bouchard also did the same. She dabbled in pickleball for a bit before her eventual retirement from tennis at the Canadian Open 2025. The Aussie, meanwhile, will be focused on his upcoming tennis exhibitions.Nick Kyrgios to participate in the World Tennis League and Battle of the Sexes in December 2025Nick Kyrgios at the Garden Cup 2025. He took part in a couple of them last week, joining Aryna Sabalenka, Ben Shelton, and Naomi Osaka at the Atlanta Cup.Sabalenka and Osaka accompanied Kyrgios to the Garden Cup as well, where they were joined by Tommy Paul. The 30-year-old will now head to India for the World Tennis League, which will run from December 17-20.Kyrgios will reunite with Sabalenka after that for the Battle of the Sexes, which will take place in Dubai on December 28.
